The Elder Scrolls Series

The Elder Scrolls is an "action role-playing open world" game series developed by Bethesda Game Studios. After their first release in 1994 with Arena, game historian Matt Barton said "the game set a new standard for this type of CRPG (Computer Role Playing Game), and demonstrated just how much room was left for innovation". After this came Daggerfall, sometimes remembered for its enormous map, spanning a size twice the size of Great Britain.  The third game of the Elder Scrolls series Morrowind, was, at the time, a marvel. When the game was conceived, it was too advanced for the technology of the day. Bethesda tripled their staff and worked long and hard and released a game that was one to remember. Oblivion, the next game to be released was released to a large uproar of approval. The game featured better AI, physics and animation, and better graphics. Skyrim, the latest game release was let to the public in late 2011 and is still being played like it was the first day. The latest game, Online, has yet to be released but will be a computer based MMO.
